How Your Gifts Support MLS

When you give to the MLS Foundation, you have the opportunity to designate your gift for a specific fund or purpose, or you can give to support the greatest need. The information below shows how gifts have been applied in support of MLS. Visit our Projects page for further information.

Eberhardt Society

Pastor Christoph Eberhardt and his wife Mary donated the land on which Michigan Lutheran Seminary still stands. Christoph and Mary Eberhardt had the future needs of the Church in mind when they made their permanent gift for Lutheran education. Many years later we still reap the benefits of their foresight and generosity as the gospel of Jesus is still being passed as our heritage to the next generation at MLS.

The Eberhardts’ act is an example of good stewardship that bears fruit well into the future. The MLS Foundation is building an endowment for Michigan Lutheran Seminary. The key to building such an endowment is estate planning. To that end, the MLS Foundation has formed the Eberhardt Society consisting of men and women who remember MLS or the MLS Foundation in their estate plans, serving as an encouragement to others to practice good stewardship in life and in death.

Please consider remembering MLS in your estate plans. Christian consultation is available from the MLS Foundation or from a WELS Christian Giving Counselor. This consultation does not replace the advice of a licensed financial advisor. Please consult a financial advisor before making any estate planning decisions.

Please contact the MLS Foundation’s Donor Relations Director if you have any questions.
