MLS Foundation Privacy Policy
The Michigan Lutheran Seminary (MLS) Foundation is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all of its activities. Hence it is committed to the ethical collection, retention and use of information about donors and prospects in all of its activities.

Information on our mailing list or donor giving records are given only to employees who need such information to perform their assigned duties for the MLS Foundation. Information may also be given on a limited basis to agencies that prepare mailing on our behalf or analyze our data for the purpose of a financial audit.

In our efforts to support Michigan Lutheran Seminary, a preparatory school in the ministerial education system of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), the MLS Foundation will routinely share information about donors and prospects with the Office of the Ministry of Christian Giving (MCG) of the WELS. Such information is in the form of entry into a database, which is protected by the privacy policy of the WELS MCG.

To publicly recognize and thank them for their generosity, the MLS Foundation may occasionally release a list of donors. In such cases, other organizations and third parties would have access to the donor names.

The MLS Foundation maintains a secure office and computer environment so that information is not placed at unreasonable risk.

If you prefer that your donation and/or any of your information be kept anonymous, please inform an employee of the MLS Foundation. The employee will draft an understanding of your request in writing and obtain your signature.  An example of a privacy understanding is illustrated below.
